As excited as I was for it to be Friday, the day ended up being very tumultuous. First thing in the morning, we receive and email from our CEO saying that PNC was acquiring National City. I've worked for a bank before through a merger but this time there are different aspects that play into it. There is a PNC Branch right next to my branch. National City is at 1 East 4th St and PNC is at 1 West 4th St. So...we are RIGHT next to each other. We also got notice BEFORE the merger information that National City Bank would be cutting up to 4,000 jobs. So needless to say, Friday was a very unsettling day for everyone at National City.
That's the new news in my life...otherwise, I'm doing about the same. Working and paying bills and doing my best to give "life in Cincinnati" a chance! AND...of course, I'm doing my best to keep a smile on my face!! Anyway, I love and miss you all... Hope you have had a relaxing weekend.
